Run by MSV, sadly a sessioned day but it's the only one I can do - only just got a fresh set of tyres on, then on my French Riviera road trip the following Friday (best not bin it at Paddock, then, eh).

Will probably start in the Inters because I've been out of practice for a while - maybe even Beginners but it's a 'Road Car Only' day… if the Advanced session is clear of annoying non-road stuff (Radicals, various sports prototypes etc.) then the Beginners will truly be full of real beginners and I'll doubt they'll want a 'local track' fool in his new Exige running embarrassingly slow 58-59 sec laps (but still quick for beginners, I remember my first few trackdays) trying to get down to something half decent.

Not that I'd time on a trackday and not an MSV day, of course. What are the rules re: GoPro video units? I can hide one inconspicuously because I've got a harness bar - just need to remove the rear view mirror somehow.

Anyone here going along? I doubt I need to say I'll be the bloke in the bright orange Exige, though there *is* another one locally smile

Will be excellent to get back on circuit and - hopefully - get my driving confidence back. There's probably little in it in terms of performance, but seeing the words 'AP RACING' written on big chunky calipers under my front wheels is doing wonders for my 205-snapped-brake-disc-fear. It's all in the head, at the end of the day.

Just go out and enjoy. You'd have no problem there without AP's. My Honda'd car ran perfectly fine with standard calipers, ali-belled discs and Pagid RS14's. No fade. Ever. Unless you're particularly heavy on them then I can't think you need worry about anything other than having fun. thumbup

Yeah - it's just psychological though because of this:

Which wasn't my fault either, but happened braking from high speed at Lavant @ Goodwood, and has left me with 'the fear' braking hard from high speeds on trackdays. I'm fine braking hard at lower speeds, weirdly.

But knowing my brakes are massively over-specified should hopefully deal with the psychological block. I'm not even that hard on my brakes - I drive pretty smoothly and am not considered 'aggressive' in style. As I said - all in my head, and if I can go out there and grab fifth before braking for Paddock then I'll come home a happy chap smile
