james24-

Went in to the dealer, asking about the 111s if they had any 6 month old or ex demos or even could do a deal on a brand new one. They said they had a demo which was about 23K i think. No "do you want to have a look at it" or its just outside or the detail are.... etc. i asked for a test drive and it seemed he couldnt be arsed. So sod um !

I have just sold my My04 111s to Nick Whale. Mint car - only 2000 miles on the clock. Sold it to finance a 111r. To be fair Nick Whale have been really, really decent. They seem competent and generally pretty friendly - I would deffinately give them a try.

JCT600 In Leeds have a couple of "new" 111S in but had sold some when I passed by on Saturday. Might be worth checking out.

I bought a car a couple of weeks ago from Wilsons in Romford. Stephen Greenslade was the sales guy and was brilliant. I'd previosly been to HR Owen and they were helpful but didn't relly give the impression that they were that bothered (maybe having all those Ferraris, Maserartis and Nobles around is a distraction). Wilsons gave me a good 45 minute test drive and had a number of recent 111s models in stock although I bought new in the end. Discount of £1,000 was offered by both HR Owen and Wilsons on a new 111s which combined with the recent price cut and the hard top thrown in gives a pretty good deal.

Don't mind at all, I bought one of the last Type 25 elises. This was a limited run of 25 "second edition" cars - an earlier run of 50 was done in 2002 or thereabouts. The Type 25 are metallic green with two yellow stripes and it's basically a 111s spec but without the sun visors and radio for some reason. The list price is the same as the 111s which, from memory is £25,995. You need to add delivery and road tax which is something like £650. Take off a grand for the discount and you are about there (the discount on the Type 25 was a bit less due to the fact that it was the last but one but I reckon you'll get it on a 111s - it was available a month ago). Delivery time was a week or so, a bit longer for me as I had the sports exhaust/cat/manifold/induction fitted by Wilsons which was about £1,800 fitted.

another vote for Wilsons here - if you are after a dealer in the London/Essex/Herts area then they are the best Ive been to

To be honest - and I know I might get flamed for this - but no I wasnt overally impressed with the S2 111s. I had an S1 111s and it seemed very slow in comparison. As I had the 04 variant I think all the added goodies just added up to too much weight and also I think they should have shortened the gear ratios. That was one of the great things about the old 111s, the CR box.
Anyway I am well pleased with the 111r and dont regret it for a second!
