I have an issue in that I let the battery of my 2004 111s go flat. After recharge the mileage jumped from 16000 to 22000! Can anyone explain how this happened and how I can fix it?

You can't.

Happened to me and luckily mileage went down by 6500 miles to read same as trip meter.

I investigated thoroughly at the time.

Sorry

I sent a mail to lotus technical services and they have told me the mileage cannot be adjusted. Does anyone know if this is definitely the case or are there some boffins who have cracked it?

Wow....that's an expensive battery change!!!

I would have thought your only hope is to get in touch with the computer underworld. There is without doubt someone out there who can re-set the mileage to whatever figure you may desire.

Not sure if they still do, but some of these very people you need used to advertise their services in 'Exchange & Mart'.

Ex77, Your earlier post said that mileage correction could not be done. Have you used this firm?

No. My mileage went down.

Someone above suggested some dodgy people in Exchange and Mart.

I just googled "dodgy people who can turn back digital odometers"

I was shocked to find there are a few people that do this kind of thing.
