I've got next week off work and me and our lass are off to Newmarket. Was thinking of spending a couple of days up that way, perhaps a night in Cambridge.

Seeing as that's only a short blast from Hethel. Is it worth visiting and do they do driver training days? I'm sure I've read somewhere that you can do an Elise day or part-day in their cars but can't for the life of me remember where.

Any tips/comments/links?

Yeah, they do Elise experience days for about £100. The leaflet's at home, I'll take a look when I get back.

Welcome to the world of Lotus (although that said when I called them about a query on tyre sizes I got through first time and the bloke I spoke to was very helpful)

Went on a "Scare Yourself Sensible" half day which accomodated 20 mins basic tuition on the full 2.25 mile Hethel test track followed by a very informative factory tour and rounded off with a number of very exciting demo laps with the instructors.

I suggest you drop Annette a line at track@lotuscars.co.uk as they suggested they may organise other days subject to demand.

"Scare Yourself Sensible for just £99"

Your experience will include:

- 20 minute instructed drive round the Hethel track
- A detailed hour long tour of the Elise factory
- Get "blown away" by high speed laps round the circuit with one of the instructors

To book call Lisa Hartgrove on 01953 608254 or email lhartgrove@lotuscars.co.uk

Or you can book a full day of one-to-one or one-to two tuition with Alastair McQueen - a really fantastic day and you'll learn a huge amount, regardless of your current level of experience. Pricey though, at about £600 for the day.
