Following on the recent press about funding...

This may be the first good thing to come out of the new government.

You can imagine though that our councils will convince the oldies that it's worth spending the poll tax on continued support of the DSCP.

Fingers crossed. I don't think I know many drivers without an 'unlucky' three points on their license.

I like how they are turning them off after Summer to avoid any disruption, and not in any way to squeeze the last few pounds worth of fines out of the tourists

Just saw this, lets hope they get rid of the scamera vans too!
That one that blocks the path to Branksome beach is a sneaky b'stard. Whenever I see it I report it for blocking the path.

Ha, what a joke...what kind of disruption could it cause...they CAUSE an inconvenience sticking their vans in places they shouldn't...Gooby's example is a prime one - parked up in a footpath!! Haven't seen them there for a while though.

So if we re-word that statement to:
"We shall turn them off after summer so we can reap the rewards from the clueless grockles driving around in a hurried stress trying to find a spot to park for the air festival, whilst getting confused by the ever canging speed limits"

Good riddence biggrin

I agree... they'll keep them as the cash cows they are until the crockles go home....

But it does go to show that without the government subsidy these thing don't pay for themselves... which in some way is a huge relief... because imagine if they actually made enough revenue to justify themselves, we'd end up having vigilante speed vans like we do clampers!
