New Exige driven
Discussion
Drove it around Norfolk and around Hethel last Thursday.
It is a brilliant car. Was sceptical that they had softened it too much compared to the original and although it is much more refined it still grips and flies above 6000rpm.
Noise is a bit subdued along with the styling compared to the original, but it feels great around the track. I'd say laptimes would be about the same for old and new, older maybe slightly quicker to 100, newer definitely quicker above 100mph.
Probably thanks to less downforce and drag,
Doesn't tramline like the old one, (no pronouncred camber) and the gearbox is much better.
Look out for the next issue of Evo for the test and comparison with our old Exige.
