Exhaust upgrade on elise SC ??

I believe 2Bular are the only ones making one specifically for an S/C car
Larini also produce exhausts for SC elises in clubsport, race and track guise. They also have sports cats, manifolds and decats.2bular are a great product but delivery times can be slow if Jim has a lot of work on. Larini are an equivalent product but both systems offer different sound tracks but make sure you choose a system that answers all your needs, because there are also distinct differences in the volume of the products.
ETA: I bought a Larini clubsport [oval] but it is loud, very loud and requires changing for track days. You'll get mixed reports on here as everyone has their favourite.
My supercharged exige with clubsport, manifold and decat:

I have been digging around for info about exhausts on the SC and found this thread. To revive the debate...
I thought Lotus did a stage 3 exahust specifically for supercharged engines. I am keen to stick with a genuine Lotus part number father than using a third party device if possible. I am currently considering getting an SC myself and was planning to fit the Lotus Stage 3. I just have 2 questions to anyone in the know...
1. Does the Stage 3 keep within the noise requirements for track days
2. Should I also consider adding the TRD air filter?
Any thoughts welcome.
Thanks in advance

2. Yes!
I fitted the Lotus stage 3 to my Exige and it was a pig not jigged correctly and not very well made or finished (its manufactured by Janspeed for Lotus)
The Larini when straight on, no problems, perfect fit and beautifully made, very very L O U D though, too loud to be honest! 2bular are very highly recommended as well.
So definatly get a Sports Exhaust on but I'd not be going for a Lotus one!
Here's the standard 'S' exhaust next to the Larini

When my car was retrofitted with the supercharger kit at the factory, they told me that my LS Stage 2 exhaust had to go, and be replaced by the Stage 3. I can't remember the figures exactly, but I seem to recall that the Stage 2 was quoted as being over 100dB whereas the Stage 3 was around 98dB. Subjectively, I must confess I haven't noticed much of a difference in terms of the quality of the noise, it is perhaps a bit quieter, but noticeably less drone-y when on the motorway. I've not had it measured for loudness, so I couldn't say how you'd go on at a trackday - my plan was to get it measured and if too loud, see if the chap who looks after my car could make me some kind of clamp-on baffle.
I had understood that the Stage 3's were made by HKS, but I'm happy to be corrected. That said, the chap who looks after my car can't recommend Larini highly enough, and he has strongly urged me to go for one of their full systems when mine eventually needs replacing.
I went for the TRD airbox when the supercharger was fitted, having driven 'factory' SC cars with and without it. There is definitely a noticeable difference - I found the standard airbox completely stifled the supercharger whine, whereas with the TRD unit it could be clearly heard under hard acceleration, but not at other times. I found that to be the best of both worlds, as you get the drama when you want it, but without it becoming annoying all the time.

Hello Barthompson
I have just ordered a 8x22 2bular exhaust for my SC. In that spec it should still pass any of the dB limits for track days. Have a word with Jim at 2bular or have a look on their website it has loads of details on the types of exhaust he makes. Only wish I had the pennies to buy one of his full systems.

Agree about the TRD Airbox, just had one fitted and combined with a Larini Club Sport pipes sounds fantastic

Been doing more research and found this post...

Just thought Id re-post in case any one else was in a similar position to me. Sounds like 2bular is definitely the way to go.
