Nitron Street Series dampers - Experience with Settings?
Discussion
Hi chaps,
I'm getting some single adjustable Nitron's fitted tomorrow (S2 k series)and I've set them at the middle of the damping range.
I just wondered if anyone out there has ran these for any amount of time and can offer me the settings they've used for weekend/evening only, spirited road use.
I know a bit myself about suspension, and will enjoy playing with the settings, but any experience anyone can offer will be appreciated. I don't know how the bump/rebound is effected by the adjustment, or what the 'middle' setting of 40 is actually like. (Is it like Koni's in that it only ever adjusts the bump, not rebound?) (is the middle setting actually 70% of the maximum etc)
I'd also be very interested to have recommendations on ride height as I've never had adjustable spring platforms on before.
Thanks as always.
Stephen

Ive got mine set to mid setting on both front and back. Its too firm for the roads round here, especially with a passenger. I find Im loosing traction a lot through skipping over bumps and there have been a few hairy moments. I keep meaning to back them off a tad. Id say got to mid setting then back off maybe 5 notches to the soft side and go from there. Maybe a few more on the front.
Worth remembering that the job of a damper is to damp the spring not to soften or harden the ride.
Start from full hard and ease off a couple of clicks a time until it feels right. Somebody much more knowledgable than me once said that the idea of adjustables was to match the damper to the rest of the car's suspension: once its right its right.
