Steam coming from radiator

I just got my first Elise three weeks ago and today, after it had sat outside my work in heavy rain during the afternoon, I noticed a significant amount of steam coming from the radiator.

There seemed to be a couple of puffs of steam on the journey home but this was when I was either starting or stopping so I was thinking that this may be sitting water falling onto the radiator from somewhere.

At the moment I am just going to let it dry out and see if it contunues but I thought I would ask if anybody else has experienced something like this and is it anything to get worried about it?

Nothing to worry about. mines new too and it does it regularly with a climate change - especially when you come out of a car wash! Its normal.

Wait till you can harldy see out the back window from it steaming up so much

This is normal. I find it quite amusing when you are in traffic and everything has got hot after a bit of weather, you put on the gas to pull away and the windscreen mists over in about a quarter of a second. Quarter of a second later again and it has completely cleared. Bizarre and not undangerous.

it's even more amusing when people stop you because they think your car's on fire....and you have to explain it's just a design fault....

yep had this happen a few times now, best was few weeks back and weather was well bad-parked outside work while it peed down.

on dual carriageway on way home luckily stopped to join traffic-it happened! bloody wholw thing steamed up..how stupid am i looking? in a yellow car, convertible,mid winter,doing abou 35mph due to high wind and rain then im misted up in 5 seconds!..wot a twat.
