Hope you dont get clobbered due to their ineptitude and bad timing.
Should get plenty of "spotted" posts with that colour scheme - looks great!
Yikes!! well hopefully it will be done by January!! lol. (just checked BBC news in a flat spin panic)Hope you dont get clobbered due to their ineptitude and bad timing.

Well 3pm has passed with no phone call to says it's not ready, so I can only presume it's ready...but still not holding ones breath!
FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL
Honestly, I ask you....
...you would think that ANY bodyshop would know how to finish a car properly...is that unreasonable??
You DONT leave flatted patches unpolished
You DONT leave overspray on the window sill
You DONT leave gougy swirls over a freshly painted car
You DONT leave glue all blobby along the front of the roof seal which is now covered in white polish
You DONT leave the engine cover misalighed when you've been asked once already to sort it
You DONT fix the engine cover ram upside-down then leave it upside down when you've been asked once already to sort it
You DO replace all the black sticky dots that cover up screw holes on and around the mirrors.
Oh, and the Valeter, jeepers creepers - TYRE dressing is for TYRES, not for a dribble effect all over the wheels you dipstick, have some PRIDE in your work, FFS it's the only Kawasaki Green exige you'll be working on in a long time, enjoy working on it and say 'I did that' and be proud.
How can 2 people who are NOT employees of a 'professional' body shop notice so much more than those that are....seriously WTF?!!!
Now a couple of the items we spotted were things that we were being particular about, like too much orange peel inside the rear light mount area, but still not unreasonable. The rest of it, like leaving sanded down patches un-buffed is all really really sloppy work and completely unacceptable.

So, they are keeping it until they sort it out, so it's back in the wafty Jag for another night.
It's so hard because it looks AMAZING from a distance.

Sorry to hear it's still not sorted. Time to name and shame I think, sound like a bunch of cowboys. Hope it's not one the "known" Lotus shops.
Unfortunately it IS a Lotus body shop, but they are known for all the wrong reasons, such as this.I won't name names but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work it out.
Their communication however has been very good on this occasion - not perfect, but vastly improved. That is usually one of my major bug-bears that flips me over the edge.

Well the latest news is that it will be done by Friday, new seal for the roof has been ordered which I think is the main hold up now. Someone senior appears to ge stamping his feet now so lets hope we get the desired result.
Whatever happens I will take the car away Friday, and if any remedial work still needs to be done after that to get it into the condition that it should have been in in the first place, it WILL be invoiced to said paint shop.

I wish you luck, sloppy workmanship at bodyshops is something I really hate. As you say they are the experts, you shouldn't be telling them what's wrong, they should inspect it and get it right first time.
Hopefully there won't be a next time but from my experience it would be worth the additional hassle to take it to Specialised in Reading.

Well, the car is finally home... For a couple of days as there are a few issues to sort on Monday!!
Again silly little things that could have been picked up, fog light up side down (again) door not locking, indicator not working, wing mirror not tightened, and another paint run. Nothing disastrous but annoying having a faulty indicator with the super quick flashing, like an old mini!! Yet another day of work to be interrupted to drive across town etc etc but hey ho it's pretty much there now, phew!
It looks amazing though and already it is turning heads like the chrome orange did. You dont need neons with this baby, it IS neon.
It's on the driveway for a few bolocs to have a peep at on their way home later!!
