Well in the last three months my Elise (S2 111R 06MY Elise)has started an indication of eating indicator modules - Basically a crap design in the first place - small plastic clip holiding the thing into the clam keeps breaking.
Really bad design and hear it is a really common problem. Seloc have a solution http://wiki.seloc.org/a/Indicators but would like to know what people have done to solve it. Really cannot understand why Lotus have not done a recall on this in some ways!
Your thoughts would be appreciated....

My n/s indicator failed, but for the life of me, couldn't work out how to get to the unit to replace the bulb. Tried the SELOC thread & pics, but to no avail. Ended up going in through the wheelarch and all I could manage to do was follow the cables back to the unit and have a feel around. Seemed to do the trick though as the indicator now works!
Any pointers as to how you get the damn thing out in the first place?

According to this wonderful Lotus design, most people say if you take it out of the clam it breaks !Any pointers as to how you get the damn thing out in the first place?
So that does not help you but hopefully someone will enlight us all with some helpful hints. The person at Lotus that designed this should be held to ransom - They must of been asleep during the lectures of headlamp design!
To remove them, there is a small hole in the clam which allows a screwdriver the push the clip back holding the unit in.
I have been through 4 in the first 12 months I had this car, in the end the Lotus field engineer sorted it by shaving the clam a bit. Since then they have stayed put. Ended up sticking them in with Sikaflex on my old car which was a lot simpler and cheaper than buying new light units.
Lotus have fixed them on the new model by integrating the indicator in the headlight unit!
