Went for a drive last night in my cousins S1 Elise (R-reg) and it has 112k miles on it. Now, it has (embarrasingly) been a full year since I've been out in a Lotus but nevertheless it felt really quite tight, smooth, and much much better than I thought it would.

Which got me thinking; who has the highest mileage Elise or Exige? 112k seems alot but I imagine there must be higher - original development cars, perhaps?

My friend's S1 has 150k on the clock which he's owned from day 1 of purchase from the dealer. Gone through a few head gaskets, but still on the original radiatior!!

Stu on SELOC, think he's either close or at 300,000 now

makes my 106,000 seem low mileage

I've just passed through 90k (only around 7k of that has been in my ownership). Certainly still goes well but it has had a fair few new parts on it in recent years. A few parts have expired since I've had it too! - clutch release bearing, rad, clutch slave cylinder, alternator - goes with the territory on a 9yr old car of this type really.

I expect it to go well past 100k during its time with me driving

I'm on 78k for an S2, which is rising rapidly.

The car its self feels very tight and is a joy to drive... Hopefully I can drive it for ever (in a triggers brush style).

Great news - and great to hear people drive them rather than keep them in the Garage.

53k on a S1 - all open top ! Yes I did get wet at times ! More indicative of the English weather as it has taken 11 years

2004/ 2005 111R with 97k miles. Runs well, goes like hell but the nose needs a good respray! It actually feels better than new!

grrrr, pipped to the S2 post, and you have two years on my car, and you still have the original engine still (I must try harder)

I'm at 78k on my S2 Exige and agree with a previous post that it feels as good as new.

It is an interesting comment - I feel my S1 is as good as new but perhaps it is more of a " glove " feeling as you feel more comfortable with the car as time goes on.
Anyway I will in the future be publishing a book on the LOTUS FEEL AS AGE SETS IN !!!
On a serious note - the more you drive the better it gets.
I am fortunate to have an Evora and 111S but the 111S has that " something ", the Evora is fantastic but for me it is " horses for courses " and open top is great.
So endeth the first lesson

you would have to stretch your imagination a long way to call my engine original! ...

The game usually ends up with who can quote the biggest numbers. Let's cut to the chase- I win.
