Help! Boot release cable snapped

I tried to open my boot this morning and the cable snapped!

Does anyone know how you can release the boot catch without using the release toggle on mk 1 Elise.

I believe you need to put your hand "up" somewhere

Seriously, on your rear wheel (nearside) you have to put your under the arch (possibly lifting the arch liner first) and then you should feel the cable. Gift it a pull and it should open.

A little bit of brute force may do it for you. Try to push down and sideways (left?) on the lid above the lock; you may get enough movement/dostortion of the lid to get it open.

If that doesn't work you'll need to go in via the RH rear wheel arch liner.
