Okay ... we all know alot of the latest head units can read MP3s/WMA from a CDR, but does anyone know of a head unit that can read MP3s off a DVD ?

Cant fit all my MP3s on a 700 MB CDR, but probably squeeze them onto a 4.7GB DVD-R/DVD+R.

I also dont want to spend loadasmoney, its afterall, only for the Elise.

wow ... thats cheap. Thanks for that ... however, looking for something with a built in tuner.

I know Alpine are building a system to work with the Ipod but thats not out till summer and prob. will cost $$$. But with the dollar so weak, I can pick up a 20GB Ipod fairly cheap, and then just need a head unit ... thats what I'm swaying to at the moment.

Another alternative is the Kenwood Music Keg .. its basically a portable hard drive which you use just like a CD changer ... but £300 ... and still need a Kenwood head unit (another £150)

Decisions decisions ...

Got an Ipod? Then all you need is a head unit with an FM radio and an Itraveller adaptor. About $79 from the Apple store in NYC so I'm sure you'll be able to get one on the net cheaper. Have a look and see?

The fm things don't work very well in :

a) England (too many radio stations).
b) Elises (huge amounts of E.M. radiation).
