just curious as to what you guys have spent on your elises recently for maintenance and upgrades...in a quiet moment I just added mine up and it's frightening

here's the brake down

- replacement rad £550
- New brake pads and discs all round and replacement brake cable- £1100
- Full set of advans- £440
- Janspeed sports exhaust, hurricaine induction kit A service and relacement of 8 ball joints!!- £1750

Making a total of.........£3840 in about 7 months, granted the upgrades weren't essential but would still be well over 2 grand!!!!

I don't regret any of it especially when I get in it but it does help explain why I'm so skint at the moment

Any donations will be gratelfully received

According to my PH car diary www.pistonheads.com/members/showCar.asp?carId=1268 (why not update yours?) I have spent £7,459 just keeping the damn thing on the road!

Average is £1,646.12 a year on servicing!

That maybe be 2 grand in 7 months but how long till you need some new tyres?? Maybe 1 or 2 years so thats 12/24 months till another 440. And the brakes are something that would probably last for another 3-5 years i think?? It maybe expensive but compared to other sportscars like the 911 its quite cheap to maintain.

But hey better to spend it on your Lotus then on a Vauxhaull huh better to drive your elise than your vauxhaull for the same monet

I know how you feel. Last September/October I forked out for insurance, new tyres, new suspension, new pads and discs all round, Willans harnesses, and a bodywork repair after a little argument with the jack when adjusting the suspension! Total? I don't want to think about it.

I have an invoice that say £224-80 for a jubilee clip (that's the only part they used) - guy at the specialists had a twisted sense of humour!
