Can anybody tell me if the rear spoiler from an exige ( the small horseshoe type ) will fit on an elise, and does it fit onto the engine cover, or the rear clam ? oh and if so, does anybody have one for sale. Thanks

If you fitted that to an Elise engine cover, which is nearly flat (?) - it would act as an airbrake !

They aren't adjustable - well mine isn't?

How about fitting the supercharged spoiler, a lot easier to fit and more suited to an Elise.

anyone have any idea how the original (wobbly) S2 spoiler is supposed to generate as much downforce as the latest (rigid) MY2010 version (which looks about twice the size)?

is being wobbly actually a good thing for a wing?

Lotus claim same downforce with less drag with the latest design. It looks like it should be the other way round.

two point's

original one did next to nothing for downfarce, but it probably had a significant effect on breaking up the airflow over the engine cover.

New one is more 'wing' like and as such is probably way more efficient in terms of lift/drag ratio as well as not screwing up the over-engine cover airflow as badly, so it probably does produce less drag.

I can't see how the new wing wouldn't make more downforce than the old one.

Or at least some downforce compared to none.

have not looked at it in enough detail, but if you read between the lines, I would suggest that the overall rear lift figure has not changed, however, how this is achieved has changed somewhat and also reduced drag in the process.
