I am about to loose my pride and joy tomorrow. Yes the Elise is going to a new home

However there is a plus, she is about to be replaced by a Caterham 7 Superlight . This is going to be my only car , which should be fun .

I just hope the weather improves, a superlight on snow with cut slicks.......could be fun! Will put some pictures of the new toy up soon.

Sad to hear your car's going Alex - it looked really nice, great colour combo with the leather.

I hope you got a good price and that the Caterham gives you as much amusement!

Funny that you've gone from an impractical car to a completely impractical car.... as drag would say, "Good Lad!"

ahh yes, but the Elsie's gone to a good home - me

and the se7en will be happy with Alex

so no great shakes

first report on the Elise (111S): seems a little more comfortable than the Superlight...

stills feels very special - that view is so road racer perfect

has loads more grunt than a standard one - lots of torque for bludging around and surprising shoving going from 3rd into 4th; still not quite the same as 300 bhp / ton as Alex no doubt found out last night!

a lot of rattle / vibration from the top of the engine - is that anything to worry about?

I'm just going to concentrate on getting dialled into the car before I spend any money; are there any sensible mods that I really should start with on the 111S? it's going to be my everyday car and do the odd trackday as well

cheers

Mr Toad, I like that

Toad - I had a great ride home last night, what a beast. My passenger could not stop laughing the whole way back

The Se7en is a lot more brutal to drive, with perhaps a little less finess to the steering, but with a more positive action to the gearchange and brakes. I felt like I was just trying to hang on to the thing all the way home. Great fun, but it will take a little while to get used to it.

It is going to be an interesting few months. Bring on the sun!

Toad, I will give you a shout about the aeroscreen, perhaps if you are along on the 9th March I could pick it up from you then. Hope you enjoy the Elise, make sure you look afyter her for me.
