price guide???
Discussion
right ok, i've got first refusal on an exige, i can't get to see it till friday. im not too sure of the prices of these things cos the market seems to be all over the place! its an 01 model, chrome orange, 8,000 miles, and is pretty standard, ie 177 bhp, but it has the alacantara seats with harnesses etc... sounds nice, the one previous owner was lotus, so im not sure what it used for, i maybe able to find out some how??? anyways if anybody could give me a guide as to what to pay, that would be great thanks... oh yeah and do you really think the introduction of the s2 will make a difference to the prices????
Not very good on exige prices however my S2 was an ex-lotus car.
They used to shift the ex-management cars through Chris Neils before they were an official dealership. I don't know if this is still the case.
All the ex-lotus cars I've come across for sale have had about 8000 miles on them (mine had 8600).
From my experience, the car has been outstanding. I've not come across any of the usual problems cited on these pages. Being an ex-lotus car these cars will have had a full factory service before being passed on (Check the log book).
This also means any problems, niggles have usually been sorted out. I e-mailed Lotus to verify the origins of my car (it was the type 25 development car).
If it is an ex-lotus car you can be sure it will have been maintained to the highest standards.
Regards, Neil.
PS. Anyone else out there bought an ex-Lotus car care to comment?

Yep mine is Ex Lotus 7k on it when I picked it up.
Bit different as its a Race Tech with the Sports tour pack added on it - never had any problems apart from the drivers window keeps loosing its screws.
Oh and the added extra of the Norwich A-Z under the passinger seat (chap was very happy when I sent it back).
