Morning K...

Viper stripes would look good on your "yellow 'un" but only if you have a hardtop in my opinion.

They are removable (via a hairdryer to melt the glue and a little diluted turps to remove the remaining glue on the body).

If you like them then go for it!

Re, the suspension:

I'D stay well clear. never heard of them and wouldnt "waste" the money. The only suspension mods i'd let near my elise would be Nitrons (MAJOR ££) or lotus' own kit (also MAJOR ££).

Save your money, for the best

Im sure somebody will come along and say " dont listen to him, they are a great mod and very very cheap"

If your getting Upgrade-itis i suggest getting the short-shifter and gear linkage.

THE BEST modification there is

to the braided hoses (before the hot summer)

To fit would be around £40 (according to Bogie )

Dont think, just order them now:

Hmmm... Nitron's... Yummy...

(Have 'em on my car of course )

Well worth the £££ if the car is used on the track regularly IMHO.

Bye, Arno.

I had black 12 spokes on it first, did have the intention to have the 160's painted black but really liked them in Anthracite once they were on....

Because they are expensive of course!

Naah...

Nitrons are so good for a few reasons.

First of all they are monotube high pressure dampers (like the Bilstein dampers on the S2, which are already a lot better than the S1 KONI's), which have much better properties than dual-tubes (KONI, Leda, Spax, etc.) when it comes to heat dissipation and damping response.

Secondly they have a very high construction quality and are fully re-buildable. They should also survive hard track use without a problem, 2 year warranty as well, which can be extended by a year if you have them rebuilt/checked by Nitron.

And lastly they have very good adjustability when it comes to the damping settings. Useful range is almost all the 'clicks' from hard to soft.

They are pretty much the best dampers you can get. Probably the only comparable ones are the new road&track dampers for the Elise made by Ohlins. But these are a few hundred quid more expensive.

Bye, Arno.

BTW those shocks on ebay are Gaz units.

Not worth the effort fitting them IMHO.

GAZ and AVO are ones to steer clear of.

SPAX, the next best thing, then LSS, then S2 kit, then NITRONS.

All imho as ever.
