The mirrows can't be folded back.

The width of the S2 is 1719mm so shouldn't be a problem

thanks for that, but i've just been reading the brochure and it indicates thats the dimension 1179mm is excluding the mirrors

i know the front of the car is narrower than the back so hopefully the mirrors aren't sticking out that much

Should not be a problem as the mirrors only stick out about 75mm on each side over the 1719 of the body work (remember they are attached to the door which is the narrowest bit of the car) I would say 1875mm will give you a good margin.

The problem is being able to open the door wide enough to get out of the car without having to take the roof off... I need more door clearance than a normal car - not sure if it's just because I'm on the "large" side, or a feature of the sills, but if anyone parks too close in an NCP it's a er to get in (or out).

yeah, i've got a little more door clearance once i'm in the garage as the frame is the smallest part, but not much maybe 50mm

you think i'm still ok with the size?

Elise fits fine in my standard single garage, just make sure you've got some padding on the wall you open the door against.

But Elise's are now consigned to the drive when I borrow them, cus the Elan lives in the garage!

Very good point - I was thinking of my garage that opens up once inside - you will need door opening space of at least 14" or 350mm to give yourself a
7" 180mm gap to get out of which is possible but tight!

You may give yourself a bit more room by parking at an angle as the Elise is narrower at the pointy end.

Don't forget to put carpet on your garage wall in case you crunch the doors on it
