Immobiliser/Alarm Categories

Most insurance companies seem to want at minimum a Thatcham Cat 2 immobiliser.
What does the one fitted to the Elise come as? Cat 1 or 2? Anyone know what the difference is?

Thatcham Cat 2 is the Immobiliser requirement
Thatcham Cat 1 is the Alarm/Immobiliser system requirement.
You should find virtually all Elises have a Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm Immobiliser fitted (normally the factory fitted one)
