The pics on the Sport 190 page are not of the Sport 190.

It's the Elise Scholarship car, which has the standard engine in it.

Wrong on both counts, sorry. I don't know where you got the info from on your site for the sport 190 but there's more wrong than right!

I do have to say that your site seems to contain lots of information derived mainly from Pistonheads. It's hard to navigate or to know where you are, and what are you using frames for? I hope you take these as constructive comments.

most of the buttons on the RHS don't seem to go anywhere...

hence confusing site, not much on it, not worth the effort.

sorry..disagree...it includes lists of the cars, colours and various upgrades actually availble - which personally Ive found very hard find anywhere else (e.g. lots of exhaust systems, but which for S2?) Some of the nav obviously has nothing behind it yet (like faults) - but sure it will come in time.

timskipper - so if he's wrong about the 190, why dont you actually enlighten us instead of just saying 'no you're wrong'?? would be rather more useful....

MrDemon,

As for me being a Newbie, I design websites for a living so I think I'm able to comment on this!! You make two very big mistakes on your site that are pretty unforgivable.

First you use Flash on your start up page, which may look nice but takes ages to load on an older machine. Also what if the machine doesn't have flash? Your nice first page is a blank mess, which isn't a good first impression.

Secondly you use frames which frankly are a sin punishable with death, it looks crap and is just plain lazy HTML. Use a web development platform like Zope or use some CSS instead. www.elises.co.uk is well laid out, simple to navigate and above all looks good on whatever system you run it on. It also has more information, is well written and doesn't come over as if designed by a 12 year old.

Well it's already been posted on Pistonheads Lotus News page (albeit with the same incorrect picture) - not hard to find.

Besides I don't really feel like posting his entire page here and pointing out the errors, there are so many.

I'm genuinely curious where David's info has come from since it's so vastly far out. Adjustable rear wing? Front splitter? Dog-clutch gearbox?

Are you referring to this?

Yes, the impression I got from reading that story was the pics were of the Sport 190. EVO magazine made the same mistake (probably because the release from Lotus was a bit ambiguous).

Those pics are of the scholarship car, not the Sport 190.

Tim.

mmm ok

pages are being added all the time so i hope it is worth the effort.(very new site and growing)

I am no web designer so not fussed about frames.

Sport 190 info was from lotus lol changed now but waiting for a pic from Tim when he gets his car.

The sites just a little hobby which tries to put all s2 info in one place.
As when i was buying and upgrading mine it took ages to find what was out there.
its not like I am charging £10,000 for it to a Client.

Cheers all hope you come back to it, well s2 owners anyway :-)

Just a quick comment on the site.

Perhaps you could make te left hand navigation a bit shorter as it currently goes off the screen on my laptop (1024x768 res) - some users don't know how to use a mouse properly let alone a scroll bar!

For lots of pictures of the various colours take a look at www.kirschmann.ch/lotus/index.html

Gunmetal Grey with black anodized wheels I think.

Fair play for putting up a site about a car you're ethusiastic about.

Just becuase people haven't spent years designing websites doesn't mean they shouldn't put a website. jesus, if you had to everything to a professional standard before you were allowed to do it then you wouldn't get very far. In short, put your flame throwers away!
