Hi ya just a quick question I am buying a hardtop from a t reg mk 1 elise. To put it on a S reg mk1 elise will it go on straight away or will i have to change any thing to make it fit. thank you

I don't think there should be any problems with that at all, should fit straight on Could be wrong though.

if memory serves me right the fittings for hardtops changed mid 98 so if yours is really early it might be a problem. Pre mid 98 I don't think factory hard tops will fit.

Why dont you take your car and try before you buy?? or are you bidding on ebay?
I wouldnt worry about it being the same type doe! none of them fit that well anyway

I've got a '97 Elise and was looking at buying a '99 year hardtop. As mentioned the Hard top was introduced a while after the car was launched but there is only one type of hardtop. The only thing that changed was that a revised roof/cant rail set came out for early models (upto chassis No.3332 I think) This is when the hardtop was introduced. BUT, all you need to do in order to fit a hardtop to an early car is to adjust the windows so that they don't go up as far as with the soft top. After reading this through it seems as clear as mud but I hope you get the jist.
