Italian 'Exige' 2

230bhp modded Elise pre-empts the real thing

Some people just can't wait for the new Exige to be launched. UK Garage in Italy being one such set of enthusiasts.

They set about creating their own instead, based on an S2 Elise. A 111S model was modified with new bodywork and a carbon fibre rear wing.

To give the go to match the show, they've dropped in a supercharged version of the K Series good for 230bhp. They reckon they can tweak it up to 250+bhp given time. The supercharge kit will also be available for the 120bhp K Series and the new Toyota engine.

Well the wing has heritage, it looks just like the first high level ones Lotus stuck on the F1 cars in the 60's! I suppose it does show that all those that moan the S2 exige isn't as exciting as the S1 that not just anyone can style a car!!

Hopefully it'll be a little bit stronger than the highwings proved to be on the F1 cars!

Body kit looks naff and will add weight. The k series lump is overtuned as it is IMO.

A supercharger on the new toyota lump is a bloody good idea however! Did you guys read in Evo that this new engine was maxed for 120,000 miles without anything going wrong - not even a belt. Seems to be a very stable starting point for power upgrades!

Who destroy cars?
So also GRIFO CORSE destroies CARS as itmodifies cars!!

We have created a better Elise, more power and downforce.

Can GRIFO CORSE do the same?

Grifo Corse, race with Lotus and do not destroy cars
use Lotus Motorsport cars and fit a F.I.A. reg. spec.

That wing is just ridiculous! Really starting to like the clean look of the back though with no 'LOTUS' or badge there

That's your idea!
I have TVR, NOBLE, RADICAL, BIRKIN, CATERHAM, LOTUS, GINETTA, ecc.........
i think to understand about british cars more than GRIFO CORSE!!!!

That's road Elise Mk2, and it's great!
i don't think GRIFO CORSE can do a better road Elise at all!

The new EXIGE is simply ugly!

Buy a RADICAL SR3 (as me) instead of a RACE ELISE (simply slowwwww and boring)!!!
BE SERIOUS!!!

People! I'm talking about racing cars, who was made to race, not "racing" cars for go in the center of the towns on main street to do the stupid or the peacock!
I'll only say that if some factories made good cars someone don't need change the "soul" of it. (fast and fourios is a film!)
I'm not interested if ukgarage have a english car...
...I'm only express my idea, british people (hope) can understand.

Michelangelo,
sorry,
who isn't able to speak english?
1 Speack
2 racing cars who was made....etc etc

express your mind,
but try to be happy, don't worry about things that you don't know (as english for instance) and never saw...
And, as a side comment, consider that the modifications on the car were made considering the results (at the front and the rear) of aerodynamics software simulations (can give you references boy,
could help you in winning more...), that's the reason of the very high wing, to make it work with undisturbed air flow.
By the way, as for the engine kit, hope never find our customer where you need torque and power....your evening could be sad.
We don't bungle cars, we modifies them using the best technology available (commercial and not only) according to the requests of our customers.....and many times we offer them cars definitely better than before, that are fast as (or more) racing cars and can be used on the road.
Sing with me....don't worry, be happy!

I can't believe they expect an old metro engine to churn out 250bhp without exploding!
