Does anyone know how much it would cost to have the black vents on the bonnet and side vents behind the doors painted to match the body colour on an S2 Elise (metallic paint), as they did on the 135R? I've seen a couple of 1325R's in the Mica Blue, and the effect of the colour-coded vents, together with the hardtop really looks a million dollars! In fact I thought Lotus might start doing this as standard with the new 111R and Federal Elise, but they've stayed with the matt black plastic for some reason.

Couple of hundred at a guess done by decent bodyshop assuming fitting and removal is an easy job

just seen your location, we use City Car Care Centre in Birmingham, Lotus Approved body shop, where did you buy your Elise from?

I've wondered about colour coding these areas too, although doesn't show up too much on the Gunmetal Elise.

Would have thought that if you took out the areas to be sprayed yourself the price would come down quite a bit, and almost any car bodyshop would do it.

You've got me thinking now

There are 11 grilles in all depends which ones you want painted?

The front grilles are ok to take off but the rear grilles are a problem as they are bonded and removing them damages them. Therefore they would have to be replaced. (not sure how much they are)

Yes around £200 would be about right for painting them all, make sure that whoever you get to do them knows about painting plastic tho'.

This can look really nice depending on the colour of the car. If you get it done post some pictures so we can all admire.
