There have been a few versions, I think? The first was the entry level Elise with a limited edition plate, I think there were 50 of those, came with a factory tour, certificate etc?. They later brought out a 111s version, poss 25 of those? More recently there has been another incarnation, just the colour scheme on an Elise S.

Ready and happy to be corrected.

Just looked in the classified, apparently there's a new SC version available, but with a single yellow stripe instead of 2. Of course JC's 1963 type 25 car had a single stripe, but it was a lot narrower!

Personally I don't think it works as well as the twin stripe on an Elise

They made 25 of the most recent version for the UK - and they are an Elise SC with Exige suspension and wheels/tyres, not an Elise S.

We have one of them, as well as one of the S2 111S versions smile

So is the SC version strictly limited edition ie documented numbers, or just a limited production run based on demand?

Yep, limited to 25 in the UK. I have no. 9 smile

Another 25 have been produced for Europe.

The earlier Type-25 was also a strictly limited edition, as are half the Elises sold it seems.

Don't fall into the trap of thinking they are worth significantly more than a normal car with the same spec just because they are limited editions, though.

Get one and come to the Type 25 show that Clive Chapman is thinking of putting on. I spoke to him at the PH show, nice bloke, never meet him before, I told him I have the 25 SC and he reminded me that a donation of the sale of new 25's goes to the Jim Clark Fund. He signed my book using Colin's pen and I left chuffed!! As for my 25, I couldn't take my eyes of it the first time I saw it, had to have one, simple as! The only thing I would like to see is a

'Team Lotus'------- sign on the wing and door to finish it off.

Just liffed this info:

Type 25 Jim Clark Elise SC , 2008
Based on the 200bhp Supercharged Lotus Elise SC; only 25 will be built to commemorate with the 40th anniversary of the passing of Jim Clark. Finished in classic non-metallic Racing Green with Yellow stripe, as per Jim’s famous Type 25 Formula One car, the car has a bespoke interior in Red, and some classic touches including wooden gearknob, signature Jim Clark signwriting, and yellow grille surround.

+ 1, don't buy to invest, and don't let the fact that your 'limited' Lotus value is going down at the same speed as a standard lotus put you off buying or put you off enjoying.smile

Very true in most instances - the JC version of which we are speaking does have Exige suspensioon and 2-11 wheels with AO48s on however, so it isn't a standard SC Elise.

True but all of those parts could be fitted to a standard Elise SC for a price.

Yes they could. But you'd have to go through the hassle of doing it, rather than just buying the car with them already on. Lot's of us cba with the hassle and want an easy life wink

The Type 25 SC Elise has some fantastic details on it. The wheels, with the silver rim, are georgeous. The colour looks great and the interior is nice. The wide yellow single stripe spoils the car for me imo and put me off getting one. Two parallel yellow stripes or even the three stripes as per the red Elise sport racer would have looked better to me.
Can those wheels be bought from Lotus as a set or were they made just for the car. They would look teriffic on an Exige.

I guess there will be a Lotus part number for the wheels so I dare say you can buy them. How much they will cost, is another matter though.

Yea, agree with that, for me though the single stripe matters, as this is what Jimmy & CO had on the cars, double stripes would have meant nothing on the JC 25 SC. I loved the Evora at the PH show, with the same trad colour scheme, though it seemed to be in a darker BRG.

Yes, the wheels on the JC Type 25 are the same as those fitted to the Exige 240R and 2-11 (Lotus Motorsport items I believe). I think they are the same as these from Elise Parts:

http://www.eliseparts.com/products/show/11/751/lot...

Around £1900 for a full set without tyres... Not sure if you can buy them with the silver rims though, I think you'd have to ask Lotus smile
