The team are hoping to apply the lessons identified on their 2-11 to other Elise derivatives for the road or track & have already ientified a few areas for improvement, including the brakes. They may also do a few GT Cup races in the same car.

Their car is the original Lotus development car.

This is all good news, obviously lessons learned on the track are far better utilised on any new models

Very Good R&D for the Elise S3

Hopefully we can get a repeat of the Exige success back in 2006, (British GT3 Team Champions with one race still remaining). loved watching those races.

LOL... personally I think it will be a real shame if they win a championship for the sole reason that nobody else turned up!

I do wish them all the best though.

There were 21 cars at yesterday British GT Media & Test day at Silverstone, including Piranha Motorsport with its Lotus 2-11. There were 6 cars out in the 2-11's G4 Class (G4 is an amalgamation of last years GT4 & GT4 Superlight classes).

This was the first test of the 2-11 since its winter rebuild & the fitting of improved brakes. The 2-11 was consistently lapping at a similar pace to the Ginneta G50s & quicker than some. Fastest G4 time on the day was from the sole KTM X-Bow present which was 2 secs faster around the Silverstone GP circuit (but who knows what boost pessure it was running?)

2 x 3rd places in the G4 class at the first British GT meeting of the season so not a bad start to the campaign. The 2-11 was ahead of a couple of Ginetta G50s and the Nissan 350Z but the KTM X-Bow and one of the Ginettas were ahead in both races.

Great to see the Piranha car out racing. I'll post a couple of pics up once I've dowloaded everything.

Piranha Motorsport are lying second in G4 of the British GT Championship at the moment, despite having to miss the race at Spa and failing to score points at Knockhill due to a gearbox issue and being punted off by an errant Chrysler Viper whilst leading the class with 3 minutes to go!

This weekend (14/15th August) Piranha will be taking part in the latest race in this years British GT Championship - a 2 hour race at Silverstone. It would be great if a few Lotus owners came to see us and cheer us on. Feel free to look us up in the Pit garages.

Somehow blagged the Elise into the supercar parade so will be parked up in the paddock and then completing some laps on the track at lunchtime. Give us a wave if you see us.

Really looking forward to seeing the 2-11s again. Was nice to see several other examples (albeit in a different spec.) in the Euro Cup at Brands a couple of weekends ago. Will try to come down and say hi over the course of the day.
