Cross post from exiges.com. As title says the alarm/ immobiliser light starts to flash when driving, tends to start doing it once car has warmed up. I changed the battery (as someone suggested on exiges) and it was ok for the first day but now has started doing it again. Looked in the boot to check battery terminals and there was a lot of condensation on the battery. maybe causing a short however, pure water should not do this?
Anybody had the same problems or a solution?
Thanks in advance

If fitting a new battery solved it temporarily then it does sound like that's the issue. Maybe the alternator isn't charging the battery so it's just slowly dieing?

Not the sort of thing I can help with or you'd be welcome to pop over, there is an auto electrics "specialist" in Brixham but I think their more used to dealing with vans etc.

Is Ian still at Red Post? Could he check? Failing that South West Lotus Centre looked after me recently and they're not actually that far if you go Exeter-Okehampton-Lifton route.

If the car is running okay then it sounds very much like a red herring. Have you tried calling Lotus themselves. I spoke to someone on the tech. side when "a dealer" couldn't solve a very silly electical problem caused by replacing filament bulbs with LEDs.

If you need a hand with anything ping me a mail, I'm at a loose end until the kids go back.

Blimey - lucky you don't have one of those south african style immobilisers that fill the car with smoke and electrocute the driver!

hehe
