Bight Lights for Lotuses

Elise-Shop.com introduces HID (Xenon) lighting for the Lotus Elise and Exige

Like many sportscars, one area that's often neglected when it comes to design is the headlights. Poor quality lighting hampers enjoyment for many enthusiastic drivers.

Elise-Shop.com are now selling a High Intensity Discharge System that will fit Elises and Exiges.

Compared to the standard H4 bulbs, Xenons produce a much clearer light pattern and simply make reading the road a great deal easier.

These conversion kits don't compromise the original looks of the Elise or Exige. It contains high voltage gas discharche bulbs which replace the original items on the car. Also included is a high voltage transformer/controller which needs the be built on either side of the car.

For the Elise S1 and Exige, the conversion is a full main and dipped beam conversion. The intelligent bulbs contain a small motor which moves the bulb while switching from dipped to main and vice versa.

As the Elise S2 has two different bulbs for main and dipped beam, the conversion kit for the Elise S2 is a dipped beam only conversion.

The Elise S1 conversion comes at approx. £ 490 + VAT including the intelligent beam retractors in the bulbs where the S2 comes at approx. £ 360 + VAT

I imagine they are very nice - but I agree, I can think of many better ways to blow 500 quid.......

If I had to blow it on the car, getting rid of the Vauxhall Astra Sticks would be call number one.... besides how often do you drive the car in the dark?? Not that often - 500 quid will buy you a lot of carrots

I have them on my Elise - they are excellent. The price is actually quite good compared to qhat they cost as options on new cars.

If you drive a lot at night then they are a godsend

Beechy - that was me

The S1 jobbies are better value - you have dim/dip in one element/lens for £500ish

On the S2 they are seperate - I just did the dips for £350 and put some upgraded bulbs in my main beam and driving lamps...but to be honest I hardly use main beam anymore

Not sure what your meaning drag - we both liked Mexican food and that’s all!

B he is OK; I think he considers such posts as contributions by harmless idiots rather than a threat to civilised society.

Hi Bogie
I was the guy in the corner wearing a basball cap and eating all of there donuts with the slightly damaged ice blue S2 out side.
I was really impressed with Sinclares by the way, It was every bit as good as you guys always say it is on hear. The guy that looked at my car (think it was Wayne) fixed my door lock and squeeky door while he looked over the car for an estimate.

the s1 111s has brilliant full beam thanks to the lamps in the radiator intake grille.

dipped beam is awful though - whenever a car comes the other way i have to slow right down, which is probably a good thing!
