I need a cat 1 or 2 Tracker on my 111R soon. What's the best one, or best value then?

As far as I know, there is no such thing as a class 1 or 2 tracker. There are cat 1 & 2 alarm systems (Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser. Cat 2 Alarm only) Trackers seem to come in 2 different packages.

Retrive: If you phone the company and tell them that it has been nicked, they will turn the system on and hopefully find it

Monitor: It is constantly monitored. They continually track the car and if it is started by any means other than the key they will alert you ASAP. If someone nicks your keys (with or without you behind the wheel), you phone them and they will tell you and the rozzers where it is.

When I was getting insurance quotes there didn't seem to be any difference in price between the two systems, just as long as it had one of them. I s'pose it just comes down to peace of mind at the end of the day....

I find that some insurnace companies give you a 10% discount on premium for a tracker (well in Aust. at least) some insurers insist on them before insuring some porsches and WRX's..

Do ensure that whichever tracker device you eventually fit - is recognised by your chosen insurer. Some insurers do not acknowledge certain trackers even though they may be listed by Thatcham.

Have a look at - www.tracker.co.uk

Has prices etc on the site - the insurers go for the monitor model (it calls when the alarm is activated)

it quotes 150 for installation - however 100 is more common!
