Scuffers posted about this the other day, noting that the subframes are one of the biggest contributors.

It would seem that all you can reasonably do (aside from dropping lbs yourself) is lose nominal weight and replace heavy unsprung components (see the Cup260 for what's possible).

your not going to save as much as your posts, those figures seem a little high.

just change the exhaust back box, battery and wheels and take out the hi fi and 4 speaker system.

It is a road car after all and will not make track days any more fun.

I thought the sound proofing was actually 21kg? I could be imagining that though. Quite a bit of saving can be made with wheels and discs -the bonus being that you're saving unsprung mass there as well, so will have a more beneficial effect on handling.

the whole soundproofing package is nearer 30-35Kg I think ....but, without stripping the car and starting again, i doubt you would get it out...

Not cheap but changing the wheels to something like Dymags would probably save you around 20kg's.

Other things you could look are are plastic rear/side windows, racing bike-style wing mirrors and as mentioned before, ditching the hifi.

More complicated weight saving could be had by removing the A/C, replacing the airbag steering wheel and suspension/brakes...
