this is why im scared of driving in the snow

anyway, your best off asking at the NORLOG group for the geo-check.

your wheel can be reconditioned at about £40 IIRC.

ask on norlog again as to where to get this done

Sorry to hear it.... but - like so many others - done the same mate, 'cept I did the wheels and scuffed bodywork too!

I'd get the geo checked to be sure. Yhat in itself won't cost too much - fortunately I hadn't damaged the suspension - but it did need resetting.... aparently there is a lot of scope for correcting minor suspension defects, just in the settings - so that bit didn't cost too much...either

Silver sport 160 wheels on the other hand ..... Ouch there goes my Christmas bonus.

I skidded into a kerb over a year ago and went to a tyre fitters straight away to have the wheel checked. They put it on a spinny machine and it was bent so I had to have it replaced at the cost of £300! I had also upset the geo, so had that done at the same time. All in all, quite an expensive knock. Pisses me off to think that people who bash kerbs and drive up them all the time in their cheap euroboxes have none of the same worries as us.

Numpty Question for a potential buyer - can someone explain the "geo" for me.

Using a bit of gumption and from what I've read, I'm guessing that this is the geometry (something to do with tracking?).

Appreciate the info!

Cheers,

Tim

For the damage it depends how bad. If its just cosmetic then they can fix it. If its bent, you'll need a new one.

Depending on the impact you may need to replace other parts too.

Almost certainly you will have knocked the geo out too, so take it to someone to check. I'd ask for recommendations on www.seloc.org as theres more people there who may be able to recommend places to go.
