Maybe old news, but rumour has it that theere are new Elises sitting in dealerships at the moment waiting for an official announcement this week. No surprises, its the Toyota engined model. Circa £30K with optional electric pack and AirCon. ABS is standard.

The car was officially launched on Monday.

I just called the Lotus PR department to get some details (and find out why no information been sent out via their normal channels) only to be told that there's no one in the office this week and next because they're all out in Nice launching the car.

That's helpful...

Are they still producing new cars with the K-Series engine in? I heard they were doing both

hmm... I feel this post on another thread applies here too..
we get the 111r here in Oz too. ABS but No airbags, s2 111s wheels etc. I personally do not like the fact that it has ABS, and am glad that it has no airbags..

After all my s2 111s is supposed to be 805kg (765 tare weight on rego papers). the new 111r is 860kg- thats a 7.45% increase in weight.. the US spec is heavier again... I sincerely hope that lotus don't forget the chapman credo...

The official marketing material from lotus states that the 111r is faster in a "straight line" than a sport 111 (111s with LSS and A048 tyres). I guess that on a track the weight difference might make up for the power differential somewhat- especially since the 190hp toyota has barely anymore torque- the extra HP only useful down straights..
