Hello new to elises have a 111s I not long picked up and well i've started to get smoke kinda like when you don't stub a cigarette out properly.

Now this only happens for a short period of time starting the car from cold when seems to be damp, chat work out where it comes from, seems all around, first thout windscreen, air vents but seen from doors and general cabin area. After a few secs it goes don't see it again.

I think i've cooked a speaker, or they get damp its moisture from them???? Any advice greatly appriecietd.

Probably just damp coming through the vents and off the radiator - quite common in Elises

I mean I don't think it a bad thing, I mean black smoke = danger and this is well white, but I want o get a feel for what might be causing it

is it actually smoke or steam - steam from the front rad and vents is common - white smoke isnt

If it persists Id take it back to the dealer, or if you bought it private down to a local Lotus specialist for once over to be on the safe side

Does it smell of anything?

Not experienced this problem on an Elise, but on other cars have had something similar from electrical connections in the loom/switches overheating anve vapourising the plastic insulation. There is usually a detectable smell of burning plastic, though.

Not wanting to cause alarm - but if you are getting any 'smoke' in the cabin that smells of plastic you need it sorting ASAP well sooner in fact.

If your guess is electrical, the fact the fuse has not popped makes me think the fault is before the fuse box which could make it a significant fire hazzard.

Get it back to the dealer !
