can anyone direct me to someone in the kent/SE london area that can re-stitch my rather tired elise roof. I cant really afford to send it off to lotus, as the car is in near daily use and lotus would certainly need at least 1-2 weeks to even look at it !!

failing a repair anyone know where i can get a decent replacement hood without spending dealer prices

Have a look for any marine hood makers in yellow pages or car trimmers. I found a trimmer who repaired by restitching my Westfield hood for a little bit of cash........... The stiching was rotten and fell apart. You couldn't see the repair afterwards. I had to wait a few days for him to finish restitching an old double deckers full compliment of seats for mine to be done !!!!

Or take it to Sinclaires. They'll loan you a replacement hood while yours is being done. Well, they would if I didn't have it. I could let you know when mine is done and they have the loan hood back again. Though probably best to contact them, as I'll probably forget.

I have an industrial sewing machine but I'm in Norwich and it depends on the complexity of the repair!
