Took blokey to see a exige s in Motorpoint Derby today. Great news he actually fits in, just! He is 6ft 5 chunky chappie smile.

So now we know it is actually an option where do we go shopping! Want to drive a few before making a decision over what Lotus elise/exige etc etc.

Cheers

Petrol...

Think that's one of the first positive things I've heard said about them on here. I'd not limit yourself to one particular area - not with a small volume car such as a Lotus. If you want a dealer then there is Christopher Neil (Along the A50, up the M6, no time at all), there is the official dealer just off the A50 as well - but again opinions are mixed and their website is dire (always puts me off, doesn't work unless you use Internet Explorer). If you wanted to go even further afield then there is Lipscombe who have a good reputation. If you wanted quite close to home there is Swifts in Sheffield (site is rarely updated) whom I've had good dealings with in the past - got a lovely Sports Racer in at the moment.

Thank's for reply's. Ideally looking for localish area to try them, but will happily look country wide for the "right one" whatever that ends up being.

You looking to get something new? I'm in central Derby and have an '03 S2 111s that you could have a look at, maybe a drive if you have 3rd party insurance, don't look dodgy and leave a kidney as collateral. Not in the same power league as an Exige S and I think my exhaust might be blowing a bit but probably comparable to a 111R.

Get yourself down to stratstone Leicester only about 30mins away. Both mark and andy are top chaps who really seem to love the cars they sell and will gladly do their very best to make a deal work. Cannot speak highly of the sales experience from them or indeed the aftersales experience I have recieved so far since April. Just remebering if u buy one we want pics

Would not be looking new. I would love to come and have a look if possible. I don't think I look dodgy but I am only 23! wink. Would obviously not be able to drive as under 25 insurance company won't cover for any other car then mine.

Get registered on MLOC - Midlands Lotus Owners - plenty of owners in your area who will show you their cars/help you with a purchase if necessary. Keep your eyes on the events section and nip along to Donington on one of the Lotus days - blag a passenger ride - most owners more than happy to take you round the track. Keep a good look out - now is around the best time for prices but if you do buy in the winter - watch those roads.

There's quite a few around Derby, mine is one of 5 + a nice dark grey exige and a VX in our carpark at work and there are a couple of others that I know of parked about, don't know the owners though.

I've never actually used PS myself, mainly because the sound so snooty on the phone which puts me right off, they need to work on their customer services. I use Toggear in Wolverhampton for all servicing, they are great although they don't do sales (I don't think)
