Anyone got any tips for preventing the nasty window winding stickyness on the Elise1? Mine's getting to the stage now that I have to force the window open an inch and then give it a helping hand by shoving it down as I wind... Not ideal, or healthy, I'd imagine.

Spray some WD40 on the window runners and work it in... dont force the glass though as I heard it can become detached from the inside of the door and be a real pain to sort out!

Its funny you should say that! Forced mine when it was frozen - and it popped out. The front is easy but the back would not go until I noticed that there was an 'open' area on the runner which allowed it pop back in. Not sure if its supposed to be there and that maybe why it popped out in the first place but it was the only way it was going to go back together

This is a very common problem. the runners dry up and clamp the window in place and if you force it (like I did) the window gets unstuck from its runner in the door and has to be rebonded.

Put some oil or WD40 down the window channels during the winter to keep the window free running and if its stiff (the window that is) DONT force it!

I had a similar problem, removed winder handles and door panels and sprayed mechanism liberally with "non throw (whatever that means) spray grease. You have to peel back the transparent plastic sheet and glue or tape it back afterwards to do properly. Perfect now and no oil or grease on windows.
