Can anyone tell me if it's normal to feel no heat in the footwells when the heat/blower is on max?

Mine just came back from it's first 1000 mile service with a 'no fault found' comment from the mechanic and a wry smile from the service manager.

Am I really going to have to dress like an eskimo if I want to run with the top down in the winter?

Up playing on the Pennines in my S1 with the top down today - clear blue skies, real brass monkey temperatures - and my feet were nice and warm. Needed a sheepskin flying jacket to keep the top half of my body warm though.

And sheet ice completely covering some sections of road made for 'interesting' handling!

...just noticed you're from Surrey, though, Orsoch; probably nothing wrong with the heater - it'll just be 'Soft Southern Jessie' syndrome you're suffering from!

I find that when moving at 40+ the heater in my S2 is very ineffective - I think it's because it's pulling in too much cool air from outside and can't heat it up quickly enough. It's good enough at lower speeds though, but I really noticed it's limitations over the past 1000 motorway miles I've done this month.

Have been thinking along similar lines my S2 heater does not exacaly roast your feet unless you are on a twisty bit. Motorway driving is a good example when you can get hypothermia on a long drag.

Perhaps its just another bit of Lotus 'well it works best when cornering' amusment from the Hethnel crew.

yep - its pants when moving at speed...cooks you when sat in traffic though

Cars with aircon are much better - the fans is more powerful and you can actually feel the air hitting you from the face level vents

heater is preety rubbish
what i do is shove an old sock in the splitter pipe in the footwell so that no air goes in the passenger footwell
all the air points at the driver
there is some improvement in doin this
just dont tell the passenger

Thanks to you all for confirming my suspicions about the 'heater' and the tip about the sock from jfrf. Of course Martin is spot on with the Southern Jessie slur too
