Try turning off the traffic announcement system. That worked for me.

pah - great head unit. You can listen to digital radio (Love world service) and you can stick your ipod on it for £14 and who cares if the zorst sounds better than any head unit...

We are talking 110db zorst, wind in your hair Lotus Elise. The streo is secondary (for me). The dab54 does what I want from it, keeps me entertained while in traffic.

I got my ipod cable from the local Halfrauds for £14 and fitted myself. No ipod conrol, but wih this cable the ipod is closer than the head unit anyway so it doesnt matter.

If I was going to change it would be for one of the systems that speedyellow had with a fold out screen, satnav, dab, reversing cameras etc etc...

At no point am I saying that the blaupunkt thing is a great unit, it is just good enough for me. If I want acustic briliance I would spend it on a system for my home and not something to show off to the barry boys.
