Well here is mine at the Dealership yesterday awaiting collection by me (after removal of the cream leather for a more practical colour) tomorrow! My first real Lotus-it is 'replacing' a Caterham 7 sold after seven years of fun. The Elise is going to be my daily driver (unlike the Cat).

Be interesting to here how you find the Elise after the Caterham. Looks good !

....a great deal quieter for starters! I am very glad to have done the 'Seven thing' though-especially as I built the car. On my Elise test drives I've been struck by the delicacy and lightness of the controls and chassis balance. It will take me a while to drive it with the same confidence as the Seven and really explore the limits-and perhaps will never quite have the same precision. I also think Caterham have far better seats.

The key for me is that I can use the Elise every day but still it will feel like a special occasion to drive it. I'll be interested to see how people react to the Lotus. The Caterham got great responses from people who would wave, smile and generally always be interested without a smidge of jealousy.

Defently a different beast, which model year is your motor - Because the probax seats are really good (2006 onwards or retrimmed into probax)

It is brand new. I have had lumbar fitted and am asking them to shim the runners to get a slightly different back rest angle. A lot of the problem is that I have a spinal curvature so am pretty awkward to fit-indeed the Pro-bax seats are a lot better than many in all sorts of other vehicles I have owned or tested. Although the basic shape is OK my main issue is the short base squab which does not support under my thigh compared to the Cat.

No worries bud at least its got a thread going!!

Nice car by the way ...Im looking at an 04/05 plate early'ish 111R coz the old pockets unfortunately are'nt deep enough for a spanking new one, although I did test drive there demo black 111R and could have easily been talked into buying it especially as the paint guy was waiting for it to give it some racing stripes!

Have come off bikes into off roading(so so so slow!!!!) and now need that speed thing again smilesmile

PS. cant make mind up on colour think its a toss up between Red,Black,Blue or grey...choices choices

Good Luck !
