I thought I'd share some of my homemade Lotus porn! wink The S1 is up for sale at the moment and before it goes I've wanted to get some shots of it next to my newer car. Today the weather was good enough for me to wash both and an excellent chance for some photos! Now I'm not great with a camera and I was in a rush, what with blocking the road, but these came out pretty well:

Cheers! biggrin

ETA: The forum seems to have resized the 800x600 images, so they look blocky redface

For a seven year old car, that S2 looks stunning. The S1 looks like a shed, may as well burn it wink

It looks even better in real life under some sun smile Although you do have to put up with the occasional, "Nice Ferrari mate!", which can be a tad annoying! hehe

Nice Kris,

The photo second from the bottom is the best. How do you find the car compared to the s1?

Cheers mate! smile It's pretty difficult to compare both cars, even with back-to-back hoons, as they differ in so many ways. The S1 feels a little lighter on it's feet, although lacks the power of the VVC plant in the 111S, which is understandable. However the S2 is more composed when you're on the limit and is generally much more comfortable/well built inside. I personally prefer the S2 now, but you need to test drive one to see if it appeals to you smile

There are a few owners who have progressed from S1 to S2 and back to S1 because they miss that raw, race car feel. I think I'll be one of those who will progress from the S2 to another S2; 111R or have an engine conversion done on mine smile Not yet though!

If we go to the pub sometime I'll take you out for a spin thumbup

Question. Why does you're Ardent Red look so different (darker) to this Ardent Red? Is it just the light? Am I going colourblind?

It's the ardent red paint. Under different light conditions it can range from deep crimson to a bright red, especially if the paint is in good condition and after a polish. It is the same colour as the one in the ad and some might say the best colour on an elise... wink

It does change in vibrance depending on light levels and the type of camera you use! This Sports Racer is Ardent Red and under more direct sunlight, but looks to be a similar shade of red smile
