I've had the Elise(standard S1) for a 6 months now, and its currently sat in the garage with its winter rug.

I've found the car to be entertaining enough around the twisties, but its lack of power and acceleration passed 60 is frustrating to say the least. This car has no guts (not the point of the Elise I know) and I need to make some changes. The exhaust note is also softer than a marshmellow.

So, what can be done to improve this for say £700. What have you done?

Nothing!

For £700 you could get an induction kit, a sports exhaust and a driver training day with 1st Lotus which will make the car go better, sound better and make you better at driving it round said twisties - what more can you ask for???

change the cams for about 500 quid - good for another 15bhp see www.dvapower.com

otherwise exhaust for 300, induction for 150 and a cat pipe for 60 will give 10bhp ...save up and do the whole lot and you should see 140-50bhp
