I'm insured with Haggerty for my Elise S2. Happy enough, premium about £300/annum.

Any others I should ring prior to renewing please?

Thankyou!

Richard Egger were very cheap for me, and throw in 3 UK trackdays. Customer service has been excellent too. There's even a discount for having done a walshy day...

Egger said straight off they could not get below £300, so we agreed to stop there.

Hagerty are quoting me £296 with no track day cover.

Competition Car Insurance are offering £268 inc. 5 track days. Same parameters as Hagerty, so they'll get my hard earned this year.

I am covered for about 3k miles, and a £350 excess.

Cheers.

I just renewed with them yesterday and excellent service - at least £100 cheaper than nearest confused.com quote and much lower excess

just be wary of CCI they don't give you any refund after 6months insurance and are expensive for non specialist cars, or were in my case anyway

I paid £700 for my 111s last year after only 6 months i decided to swap it for something more practical and was expecting some sort of refund from Competition Car Insurance but got told i was entitled to nowt cause in was 6 months into the policy..... WTF !! and to transfer the insurance to the nissan 350Z they wanted another £200 !!!!!

esure quoted me just shy of £400 for the year on the same car

I won't be using them again

I'm not saying too much about esure, but after business partner had his car nicked and was without a car for over 4 weeks, I don't think I'd ever use them.

I checked soooo many insurers this year to get that really low price and no one could match CCI any where close,so they got my business.Would be interesting to here from anyone that has had to claim from them though, anyone out there that could enlighten us?

I'm with CCI as the prices are great. You also need to be aware that their policies don't cover you 3rd party on other vehicles though.

How could they verify if you really did a Walshy day? Would it actually invalidate your insurance if you couldn't prove this was the case?

You need to provide copies of driving day attendance certificates.I did a Lotus training day and had to show a copy of it to get the discount.

I bookmarked this thread because mine is due soon. I had my renewal through from Footman James (as recommended by Club Lotus).

I have a 1999 118bhp S1 with Magnex exhaust and Hurricane. I am 30 with 6 years NCB and one SP30 but have a Manchester postcode which insurers don't like. I was paying mid £800 for a 4,500 mile limited mileage policy. My renewal letter said they wanted £953.85.

I did an online quote with Direct Line and they want approx £750 for a normal policy with no restrictions. I sent this to Footman James who promptly responded with:

Club Lotus Classic Policy (no NCB earned and car has to be garaged between 2200 and 0600)

  • On the basis of unlimited miles : £1140
  • On the basis of 6000 miles per annum : £442.50
Standard policy (they say they have discounted this)

  • Unlimited miles : £790.96
I filled in a request form on Richard Egger's site and they want £592.35 based on a limit of 6,000 miles with 4 track days (at the expense of losing glass cover) so I think I'll be using them.
