I'm looking for something that's reasonably sound, that I can have purely for when the weather is nice, and the occasional trip to Le Mans & the Nurburgring.

Just beware that cheap ones are usually cheap for a reason. Budget £9-10K and either spend that on a car or a car plus sorting bits that need doing.
I reckon prices of good S1s might actually be starting to creep up a little. Certainly held firm despite the economic climate.

I'm not having much luck selling mine at the moment [plug]. I've just dropped the price again to £8,300! [plug] wink No one seems to want a well sorted car, but something really cheap from the start, which is just asking for problems!

I didn't think had changed at all, we paid 7k for our 1997 S1 nearly two years ago, I bet we wouldn't get far off that now

Detaildoc, go for it, they are a bag of fun.

Four very serious enquiries in less than 24hrs at £9350thumbup Didn't have to sell in the end though which did let one chappie down (sorry again if you see this).

I was thinking of maybe getting one with a blown engine and getting the Type-R conversion carried out. May as well get something with my money from the CICA.

Ive got my S1 up for sale at £7895 in autotrader but had no bites. The car is in stunning condition and runs like a dream. some people seem keen on asking £9-10k for the same thing and are managing to sell. Perhaps I should be asking for more money since it is as good as if not better than the more expensive cars.
all about price point maybe? (answers on a postcard please...)

Blimey, that's just wrong.

Thankfully I have behaving myself though so SHOULD get the full payout (whatever that may be)

Totally wrong, anyway, all the best for it & hope the recovery continues.
