I am in the market for an alternative exhaust for my (S2) 111S - something that makes it sound a bit less like a sewing machine.

I dropped in at Bell & Colvill in West Horsley this morning to take a look at their own one. Tom Clarke - the sales manager who designed it - kindly let me take a test in an Elise fitted with one. He also took it for a blast up the road himself so that I could hear it from the outside.

It looks to be well made, all stainless steel, straight through etc. Its much quieter and less boomy (IMHO) than the Janspeed offering, with merely a different note (similar to Larini) as opposed to extra volume. It seems to me that I'll get a better sound at all times but still be quiet enough for track-days if I so wish.

Has anybody else any experience of this exhaust? What do you think?

Ive heard a few cars with it on...a good alternative if you dont want the raspy/boomy Janspeed etc. I have the official Magnex jobbie myself which is pretty similar....sounds great outside...but not too loud for motorway cruising etc

i thought i had the magnex, but turns out ive got the Chris Neil one.

could try this one aswell.

its boomy, loud, pops, is unbearable after 2 hours of motorway and wakes all the neighbours up.

...love it!

I can't fault the logic on that, although having only seen your pics of the Larini (as opposed to "in the satinless steel" IYSWIM) I'll have to take your word that its equally solid in construction.

What I'd really like to do is hear one in person, you know, actually driving up the road. Is there anybody here in the Berks / M4 / M25 / A13 / Southend area who has a Larini system fitted and is prepared to give me a demo?

I've listened to the audio clips on your website which sound good ... I'm just not entirely sure that my laptop is doing justice to the bass!

I have the "Wilson Lotus" twin can exhaust on my 135R and I am very happy with the sound, less boom than the Janspeed i.e. more trebly, made from stainless, lifetime guarantee, easy to fit and the tail pipes are absolutely gorgeous.

Are you guys talking about Fenders vs Gibsons or exhausts?

Seriously, I have the B&C one fitted to my S2 - it sounds great but no idea how it compares with the rest, just a million times better than standard.
