My brand new 111s leaks like a damn colander.

The water appears in the very outside corner of the n/s footwell.

I have tried to locate the source of the ingress, but just cant.

I've siliconed and taped everything that looks a bit suspect, but can't stop the leak. I would take it back to the dealers, but it's such a hassle getting there etc...

Anyone got any ideas?

I got a piece of sheet aluminium, molded it to look like a hard top and then welded it to the body. I stuck some foam where the windows hit the aluminium and now its watertight beyond belief. only cost me £30

take it back to the dealer ASAP, and in the meanwhile get a showercape if its stood outside overnight....Mine has never leaked at all and its outside every night...the new style roof is watertight - sometimes the windows need adjusting if it leaks from the corner of them...another lot had a dodgy batch of material, but supposedly sorted now.

I wish somebody did one of these for the Boxster...I even contacted Leven Technology (who do a Chimaera one) to ask if they'd consider it....not enough demand apparently.

Don,

there are places that will make a custom, one-off car cover for any type of car.

I am sure a car cape is great, but mine leaks whilst you are driving it. The drivers 'leccy window has now decided to stay 'down' as well now.

Oh well, silly me, I only paid £27000 for a car thats as reliable as an unreliable thing. Lotus's response - It's a handbuilt car sir, you have to expect these things. Well I have to agree, its certainly a hand job car!!!!

I'm off to the hospital now to have the stitches surgically removed from my botty.

If its that bad then take it back and decline the car...it shouldnt do that and is not fit for purpose...dont take any shit from the dealer, just get it back there and get it sorted....if you cant be bothered then sell it and buy a Honda

Welding ally is easy enuf with a TIG welder, and just about doable with MIG if you're good. What really impressed me is how he managed to weld ally to glassfibre!
