Access to exhaust on S2 111s
Discussion
Some git has bumped my car in a carpark, the only real damage is that they've fractured the 'hangar' of the exhaust on my Janspeed system on the side where it meets the cat, meaning that its only supported by rest of the exhaust system and the exhaust pipes sitting on the grille apertures. One of my mates can do stainless welding so we're going to have a go at welding it back on. I've got an exhaust gasket and bolt set off Eliseparts so I'm ready to go, but what to I have to take off to get at the exhaust and does it all come off easily? I'm assuming rear undertray, rear grille and back wheel? I think I read somewhere that getting the rear grille off isn't straightforward? Any advice?
Angle grinding the bolts off, yeah sod, been there, when I chenged the exhaust for the Janspeed. Good idea to use a small jack under the main box, to support the weight, or ooooooooouch, if your not careful as the exhaust is removed and refitted. Quite an easy job, except those nuts you have to line up on re-assembly. I bought my replacement gaskets and bushes from Rover (same as MGF), and cheaper.
