elise s2 immobaliser

i have an elise s2 2001 with the K series engine, i have only had this car for a month and im gettin problems with the immobaliser. when i put the key in the ignition the immobaliser will not turn off, it will only turn off very very rarely and then the engine will start.
does any one have any information on the immobalisers and how this problem can get fixed? will i have to go to lotus?

Are you running greenstuff brake pads? They are probably fking with the immobiliser!!!!

Only joking - have you got a second fob that you can use to check if the fault is just with the fob you are using now?

Could be something as simple as needing a new battery in the fob.

The immobiliser is also the type that will reset itself after a short period following being dis-armed. If you don't get in the car and start it straight away having dis-armed it, may just be re-setting itself.

Tried both key fobs and none work. I've been back to the place where its stuck last 3 days in a row and still nothing. I try and reset the immobaliser with the key in and the red light on the dash still flashes. But the alarm works fine

Same problem here :/ (2001 k-series S2, single button on fob / key).
Battery seems to be OK (acc. to CTEK check), alarm can be activated/deactivated, fuel pump makes sound, I get the red light before turning the key and I can hear the starter engine working but it won't start the car... got it running once (after 1 hour of trying) so was able to get home but now I have the same problem again :/ any ideas?
