Hello all,

Some information you may find useful.

Battery on my S2 gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago. Went to Halfords, replacement circa. £40 .

I was really looking for the Varta Silver battery.

Varta state 3 batteries for the elise:
543023039 B18 Blue Dynamic 43A 175mm high x 210mm long
550056054 C10 Blue Dynamic 50A 183mm high x 245mm long
543107048 B11 Silver Dynamic 43A 175mm high x 210mm long

The C10 50A generates a higher current but does not fit the battery tray in the S2 .
Although the Varta website states that the Silver dynamic has 30% more power, I was informed that it essentially the same battery as the Blue Dynamic, but does have a 4 year warranty as opposed to the standard 3 year.

I rang around my local dealers, obtained from the varta website, and found the B18 43A battery from a local independent in North Wales. This cost £25.38 inclusive of vat , although I was quoted up to £38 elsewhere.

The B11 was quoted at £35, and C10 at £31 inclusive.

Hope this is useful info., does anyone know if the C10 will fit an S1?

Cheers, Neil

neil my dear boy, come over to drag and i'll tell you a story, whilst munching on werthers, oh so, originals.

a couple of weeks ago, (well 1) the battery (a tungestone performance? ) "went" on my S1.

a quick check on El 'google, found the aforementioned "varta" which sounds really funny, when said 20 times really quickly

anyway, i jump started El 'beast and drove to my local national tyre centre.

not only did he tell me that the silver varta was essentially the same, but he fitted the blue version.

cost? £40 fitted with a 3 year warantee + guarantee.

did it fit? "oh ya, mein fuhrer" it did indeed tighter than a scot in a g-string.

GET YOUR SELF "dans le national tyre centre, me old mukka"
