Unofficial Lotus Dealer
Discussion
Does anyone no of any unofficial Lotus dealers in or around the London area? I'm not impressed with HR Owen in Chiswell Green. My Elise is due its 'C' service so I'm looking for a fairly reasonable quote from somewhere that know's what it's doing!! Plus at this main Dealer they charge £75 per hour...yes I know it's a Lotus but I was quoted £1k from the above!! Any help would be appreciated.
www.sinclairebodyshop.co.uk about £550 for a C service. Also if you want an official dealer then Wilsons, chadwell heath, nr Romford are about £575 for a C service
That's great, I'll have a look at those, £550 eh. I can put up with that. I've had the Elise since April, since then I've changed both door windows, battery (1hr 45mins to replace....don't ask!)cracked the paintwork around both indicators and the only luxury, the stereo, has packed up. Tell you what though, took it down to Devon on the A303 and have not had a better drive....great fun!
screw it, i cant be arsed at all your half-hearted, pitiful attempts at guesses.
ill pay £395 for the dealer to stamp in my book "c-service".
maybe worth a little trip north, dont you think?
you'll save at least a hundred quid, which can then go on buying your other half some hair-straighteners.
needless to say, i "had" to buy some today, have a guess how much they cost?
£94.99.
apparently, the part-ceramic, part-steel structure is at the cutting (no intended pun ) edge of hair-straightening technology. so THATS where all the MMC discs are going!
i also know that this "cutting-edge technology" is akin, to being bent over by a nomadic china-man, having been endowed with a "claymore sword" (hes got a big 'un).
i mean nearly a £100 to make your hair straight?? WTF
if i could, id just put her head under the mattress for a half hour everyday. JEEEZZZZ.
so..in conclusion:
your getting ripped by living in the south, and im being shafted by a china-man. lovely
we do digress dont we?
ps, ill be the one at pistonfest with the curling tongs.

Don't know about a trip up North Dragstar....Anything north of the watford gaps a bit frightening for me!!
Oh it's ever so scary, friendly people, cheaper beer and nice countryside with twisty roads - no good jobs though, so I moved south
I pay £95 for an A service and was quoted £450 for a C - can't remember the B service price.
questions, questions:
1)met up with Pwig, didnt scare him because he knew the roads and i didnt..cue alot of unneccessary breaking around roads that should be illegal (think cat + fiddle but alittle more dangerous).
however, the look on his face was priceless, when i said "i nearly lost it just then"
2)"A" service will cost me about £150 pounds with the "b" somewhere in the middle. it is over £300 though.
3)the hair-straighteners were "GHDs" (if you watch the salon, you'll know what i mean ). all i can say to you Mr B., is make sure they are Ceramic.
this whole VX v. Elise debate is a carbon copy of the Iron v. Ceramic "debate". this means its going to cost you
(does this mean, that if we bought a VX, we could buy cheaper presents for the ball+chain?..."yeah, but i only drive a VX...its a vauxhall for christ's sake...so if i wanted a GOOD car, like you want GOOD straightners..i would have bought an elise..." )
venture over to the forums at www.handbag.com and just be amazed at the arguements.
4)fine..stay down south. we dont want you anyway.
